Who Are You: School 2015 (Korean Drama)

Genre: Teen Drama, School, Mystery
Episodes: 16

Main Cast:
Kim So-Hyun as Lee Eun Bi/Go Eun Byul
Nam Ju-Hyuck as Han Yi An
Yook Sung Jae as Gong Tae Kwang

Synopsis:
Go Eun-byul and Lee Eun-bi are identical twins separated at birth. Eun-bi lives at House of Love, an orphanage in Tongyeong, South Gyeongsang Province, where the younger residents look up to her as a mother figure. However, she hides the fact that she is bullied at school by a gang of mean girls led by Kang So-young, while teachers turn a blind eye.

On the other hand, Go Eun-byul is the most popular girl at Segang High School, the most prestigious private high school in Seoul's Gangnam District. Eun-byul's best friends are Cha Song-joo and Lee Shi-jin, and she shares a mutual attraction with Han Yi An, the school's star swimmer. They have been friends since they were 8.

Eun-bi and Eun-byul look exactly alike, but only Eun-byul is aware of the other's existence. Unlike the cheerful Eun-bi, Eun-byul is prickly and secretive.

One day, on a school field trip to Tongyeong, Eun-byul mysteriously disappears. At the same time, Eun-bi is unjustly expelled from her school and jumps off a bridge in a suicide attempt. Ten days later, the injured and amnesiac Eun-bi is mistaken for her twin Eun-byul, and the latter's adoptive mother takes her home to Seoul, where she starts living as Eun-byul.

Secrets get revealed later on when Eun Bi realizes she isn't Eun Byul as she soon gets her memories back, but it is then discovered a body was found at the site of Eun Bi's 'suicide'. So she starts living as Eun Byul as Eun Bi is now 'dead'. Soon, Kang So-Young joins the school and finds out Eun Bi is imposing as Eun Byul and tries to make her life miserable again, but Eun Bi has changed and is now a different person from before.

My Thoughts:

I came into this drama's world prepared for a fun 18 year old life drama but I got what I did not expect. A case of switched fates. A dive into the hidden troubles of teenagers. A very mysterious mystery. First episode was a bit deep. Second episode gave a lighter tone.

It is so fun and exciting to watch this drama. I will try to keep spoilers as general as possible. Revelations keep coming in and out. Secrets revealed to people who should not have known. Love, heartbreak..... The one wish viewers wished for fulfilled. Explosions of emotions. The past is uncovered slowly for a person who should not be the one to face it. Leaning and dependence. A cliche bad female character we all want to hit and kill. Cliches that are beyond cliches. Now, it has ended. The struggles of being an 18 year old are tough but it will all work out in the end. With the drama's message(in my opinion), it's okay if you're hurt because you're an 18 year old. And I think for me that feeling has arrived without being 18 year old yet. And in the end, a ship has sunk and another ship set sail. *sob *sob Can't believe it's ended.  Until the end, super DUPER Good.

The actors and actresses did a great job so far portraying the feelings of being an 18 year old. I get fresh feelings like spring from them. And I absolutely love it. On episodes 1-4, the fire is lit. Episodes 5-6, the fireworks began. Episodes 7-8, an splendid spread of colors. An amazing spectacle. The writer did a good job in balancing the good parts and bad parts(which I usually mute due to it's annoyingness, There's subtitles. XD). Once you feel angry at the bad parts, immediately the good parts come to cool the anger. A well-planned rollercoaster ride.

TOTAL RECOMMEND to watch. Seriously watch it. Cliche and dejavu are a given here but they make it feel different. They give a splendid twist to the word. The plot is amazing eventhough I still dislike switched fates with identical twins. But still, the story ROCKS. A drama that truly excites me to wait for it is enjoyable as the age setting is close to mine being 16. Which makes it more relatable in a sense. Again, it ROCKS!! XDXD

When Xiao Lu enters her office doors, Le Si initially thinks that he's Tian Xing, but the two men's personalities are complete opposites. Le Si finds herself drawn to Xiao Lu's warm temperament, but will their love last once she discovers the truth of his identity?

My Thoughts:

It was a well-planned drama. Has an interesting concept and I love the soundtracks a lot. It was a cute drama with not that much angst. It was more of emotional conflict than physical conflict. No kidnapping or hits. The characters are the focus. Their expressions, their words, their actions. You can't escape cliches so there are predicted cliches in here. Overall, a great drama. Great to watch.
