Genre: Medical, Vampire, Romance
Episodes: 20

Main Cast:

Ku Hye-Sun as Yoo Ri Ta/ Yoo Chae Eun

Synopsis:

Park Ji Sang is the son of a vampire, who becomes inherited with the same abilities and desire for blood. Though he was initially terrified of his identity as a teenager, Ji Sang grows up embracing that side of him and becomes a surgeon specializing in hepato-pancreato-biliary surgery in the best cancer research hospital in the country. But he grew up being cold and unfeeling to mask his soft heart and inner pain and yearns for closeness with people. He believes very strongly in the sanctity of human life, and suppresses his thirst for blood to treat terminally ill patients and save lives. His hunger and crave for blood is suppressed with a special pill he takes before he goes in for an operation, otherwise, he would quickly transform when he encounters blood.

Among his colleagues is Yoo Ri-ta, a hotshot physician who entered medical school at the age of 17 and is also the niece of the chaebol group chairman who owns the hospital.

Ri-ta is highly capable but snooty and prideful, yet Ji-sang finds himself falling for her. He also gets drawn into a conflict between good and evil as he encounters Lee Jae-wook, a two-faced hospital chief who gains everyone's trust with his gentle demeanor, but inwardly harbors a dangerous ambition for power and a talent for cruelty.

My Thoughts:

This drama was criticized a lot by viewers mostly towards Ku Hye Sun's acting but I believe her acting was fine. It did not dull the plot at all.

One of the newest dramas currently, I did not want to watch it at first because I thought it was boring until I "accidentally" watched the first episode and I was hooked. I was intrigued by the concept that a vampire would be a doctor and a specialist in his field by using his vampire abilities to his advantage. Of course, I liked the concept of fate in a romance story.

Some reviews say otherwise by I believe we should not judge a book by it's cover as I had because I almost missed the chance to watch a great drama. A thrilling drama at it's best. Mostly because I love fantasy elements in a drama. If you watched Gu Family Book, you will see some connection between the lead males of the two dramas.

Anyways, hope you will give this drama a shot. One episode is enough to get a feel of the story.
